Christiane and Dominique Lacondemine’s 50-year-old vines grow on the high granite and schist slopes of Côte de Brouilly, producing perfumed and mineral Cru Beaujolais. Seductively perfumed, this is an example of a grown-up Beaujolais from the cru of Côte de Brouilly, to be savoured with food.

Raspberry fruit on the nose, the palate is complex; herbs, black pepper, wood smoke, dusted with fine tannins. Lingering as an expensive perfume would on the finish.

These grapes are taken from three precious hectares on the slopes of Mont Brouilly, where the vineyards are classified as 'Côte de Bouilly' and whose hand-picked 50-year-old vines yield perceptibly finer wines. This wine follows traditional carbonic maceration, before ageing in large oak foudres.

Perfect with plain grilled meats, good quality sausages. Charcuterie, local French cheeses, coq au vin, oriental pork or magret de canard.
