Ripe, opulent, classic southern Spanish Monastrell from Juan Gil's organic vineyards

Produced from organically grown vines - on the slopes of the Peñarrubia mountain in Jumilla. The grapes are handpicked, and the maceration lasted 15 days, with temperature maintained below 28 degrees. The wine was macerated with the skins before being deposited in stainless steel tanks where malolactic fermentation took place.

Complex nose of ripe plums and rich red fruit, combined with liquorice and fig characters. On the palate the wine is generous, rich and spicy - weighty with good, concentrated red and black fruit, fine tannins, and fresh acidity on the finish.

Drink this with hearty casseroles and red meat, or will also match paellas and other rich rice dishes.
