The wine is fruity and has plenty of notes of strawberries and raspberries. The label is designed by Jenna Kunnas and it shows the wild roses that grow in the property.

This rosé wine is made from 100% organic Malbec, which is picked by hand. We pick very early to keep the natural freshness for this wine. After picking, the grapes are pressed into juice and fermented naturally in a stainless steel tank. It was kept on light lees for a few months and bottled without fining or filtering.

Charivari wines represent the purity and authenticity of the organic vineyards they are coming from. All grapes are carefully selected and hand-picked and fermentations are all natural. The only compound added to the wine is sulphur, no other additions are made. The wines are bottled without fining or filtering. Charivari wines can be fresh, complex, rich or exciting and they all reflect the fruit of our vines and are results of a simple winemaking. These wines are truly cheerful and at their best when enjoyed with great company!

All started in 2015 when Nea Berglund had moved into her family winery Chateau Carsin to work in the cellar while studying her Master’s in Bordeaux Sciences Agro. She had worked for Carsin already for a few years on and off, but working for the family company was very traditional in Bordeaux: there was no contract, no official hours and no pay. She asked for a change in this situation and her father offered her two options: money or grapes. Nea made her first wine in 2015 and that’s how Charivari Wines got started.

These wines are not the traditional Bordeaux blends and they are all results of Nea’s experimental mindset and will to try new things. She plays with the rules of the classic Bordeaux winemaking and questions some of the traditions while cherishing others. The wines are made with great respect towards nature and with as simple winemaking as possible. The wines are not filtered or fined and only small amounts of sulphur is used.

“Charivari” -word means a loud celebration and it has been practiced at least for over 700 years. It was originally a wedding custom in ancient France but later it became known as a serenade of rough music in the streets. People would be pounding on pots and pans, playing with kitchen instruments to make as much noise as they could.

Still today, charivari is considered to be a loud noise, often related to parties and soirées. Our friends Mathilde & Louise came up with the name and according to these French sisters; Charivari is equivalent to "happy mess, happy party".

Great wine to enjoy with rich country side salads or couscous and other veggiedishes.
