This overlooked region produces bright, vibrantly fruity reds - similar in style to Valpolicella. A great summer red served lightly chilled.
Grapes are from Montresor's Cavalcaselle estate at Castelnuovo del Garda, on the shores of Lake Garda, north west of Verona. Grapes were harvested in late September, early October. Classic red wine vinification with destemming and maceration of the skins. The must ferments at controlled temperature. The wine is refined in stainless steel for 5 months before being bottled.
Pale ruby red. Fresh and appealing with light floral notes, red cherry and plum on the nose. Delicate, gently fruity palate with bright cruchy red fruits, and fresh acidity with bitter cherry and almond notes on the finish.
Very good with pasta and soups. Recommended with salami and sausages, red meat and pizza. If chilled, very good also with fish dishes.
