The Pommard appellation extends over 188 hectares and is devoted solely to red wines, Pommard wines are firm with a lot of colour and a vivid bouquet. This powerful and robust example has flavours of cherries, oak and spices, a well-constituted structure and mellow tannins. Vinification takes place in oak vats, this is followed by barrel maturation for 14 to 16 months in oak barrels with about 20% being new.

Michel Bouchard settled in Burgundy in 1731 initially to set up an enterprise in the fabric trade; however, branching out to become a wine broker, he laid down the family’s Burgundian wine roots. In 1750, his eldest son, Joseph, joined the family business and the dynasty was founded.

Vincent Bottreau is the house’s ‘Viticulteur’, succeeding Antoine Dupré in 2014; the title denotes the separate but inextricably linked parts of his winemaking role. A primary element of his role is managing the crucial growing partner relationships and overseeing the quality of the grapes they grow; this is then followed by vinification, ageing and the blending of these elements to create the finished wines. Vincent is the conductor of this orchestra, the house’s resident maestro, creating the cuvées and guaranteeing a consistent style and quality.

The "Terroirs de Bourgogne" range is a selection of reputed single vineyards villages, Premier and Grand Crus from Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune principally. Harvested, made and aged by our winemaker, they are produced in very limited quantities.

A famous Côte de Beaune appellation, in Burgundy, taking its name from the village of Pommard. The appellation extends over 322 hectares and is devoted solely to red wines, with 122 hectares classified as Premier Cru.

The name "Chanière" is derived from an old Burgundy word “Châgne” ou old French “Chasne”, “Chêne” (a location where oaks grew). This single vineyard is mostly composed of clay and limestone. The soil is well drained thanks to the inclusion of rock debris. Fermented in wooden vats and aged in French oak barrels for 10 months (20% new oak).

Perfect pairing with beef, poultry, lamb, or Burgundian cheeses with developed flavours.
