Rumor is an elegant premium rosé produced and bottled in Flassans-sur-Issole, the heart of the South of France Provence Region. Covering an area of over 850 hectares, the vineyard, which is dotted with oaks and olive groves, has been a producer of the finest quality wine for over 800 years.
The grapes used in Rumor are grown from dry, rock, clay, and limestone-based soil, which is characteristic of the region. The vineyard is rigorously maintained, pursuant to organic principles and in full respect of the surrounding environment and local Mediterranean ecosystem. The production of Rumor strictly prohibits any synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or fungicides, to protect ancient wine-making traditions and the delicate flavour of each grape variety. Harvesting for Rumor, took place in a particularly clement spell of weather in 2019, with each individual variety picked by hand in the late hours of the night and early hours of the morning, directly contributing to the quality of the crop and ultimately, the wine. After delicate sorting and destemming, the grapes underwent maceration using the direct pressing method, helping create the beautiful light pink hue of the juice.
Founded in the 13th century, Rumor’s supplier vineyard covers an area of some 850 hectares dotted with oaks and olive groves, with 93 hectares dedicated to growing grapes. Thanks to its outstanding natural location the lands were a favoured staging post and a place of rest for pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land. At an elevation of 330 metres on the lower slopes of the Massif des Maures, the vineyard sits on clay and limestone soil which is ideal for viticulture.
Originated by a group of friends searching for a new classic in the world of wine, after extensive travels, research, and meetings with vineyards, the perfect cuvée was created and Rumor was born.
In 2019, Rumor quickly rose to prominence at some of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants throughout Europe including Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, Scorpios Mykonos and Chiltern Firehouse. Following its success overseas, Rumor made its debut in select US markets, where it can now be found at venues like The Beverly Hills Hotel and The Setai Miami Beach.
