The nose is complex and intense with a bouquet offering red cherries, raspberries and cranberries, which continue through onto the palate. The wine has firm yet smooth tannins with a lingering spicy finish and hints of vanilla.
The Vesevo vineyards are situated between 450 and 550 metres above sea level, and are always subject to the cool breeze blowing off the Bay of Naples. Over the centuries, this breeze has blown volcanic ash from Vesuvius inland to give the soil here a poor, volcanic character. Indeed, the name Vesevo is the old name for Vesuvius.
