Red brick in colour with subtle crimson hues. Profoundly lifted notes of dark cherries, garden blossom and milk chocolate abound, superbly rounded out by French oak spiciness. A melting pot of dark chocolate, cocoa and cherries with a hint of subtle French oak char on the palate, further enhanced by its natural acidity, general freshness and fine natural tannins. Prodigal Grenache delivers the single varietal purity that only old vine Grenache can express. Made from a blend of two, sixty year old, single Grenache vineyards from the Watervale sub region of the Clare Valley, Prodigal Grenache is aged for twenty months in older third and fourth fill French oak hogsheads and bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve the variety’s unique character and charm.

Pair with crisp belly of pork with apple and horseraddish. The potential here is at least 8 - 10 years with careful cellaring.
