The history of the Mazzei family is closely linked not just to the history of winemaking in Tuscany, but to the political and cultural history of the entire region. The first documents that name the Mazzei family – originally from the winemaking area of Carmignano – date back to the early eleventh century.

Today, after almost six centuries, the family, under the guidance of Lapo, who oversees the property with the help of his sons, Filippo and Francesco, and Filippo’s son, Giovanni still devotes itself to winemaking, with an ongoing commitment to innovation and improvement while respecting tradition, family values and the natural environment.

Today as in the past, the Mazzei family leads the legacy of their know-how at the place where everything started, at Castello di Fonterutoli, one of the most important institutions of Chianti Classico and Tuscany, with an outstanding history and a bright future ahead.

With famous estates in Tuscany, Sicily and a new Prosecco range from Veneto, Adam Baggott from importer Maison Marques et Domains has chosen some of their best wines from the range to show you and talk you through. These are seriously high quality wines and this is not a tasting to be missed!

Places are limited to just 40 in our Walter Road shop. This will be a seated tasting. We'll pour you a glass and Adam, Nick and the team will talk you through each wine and serve you some Italian themed accompanying food. 

Please let us know of any food intolerances or requirements prior to the evening. Please note - while we will always do our best to accommodate everyone's needs, this is not always possible due to the size of our kitchen.
