The colour is very deep red with garnet reflections. The elegant bouquet releases aromas of black fruits as well as hints of vanilla, resulting from aging in barrels. On the palate the wine is supple, rich and full with good length.
The vines benefit from exceptional exposure on the heights of La Verrière. They benefit from a rich mixture of chalky and clayey soils, which gives the wine balance and great finesse.
Once the grapes have been harvested and sorted, vinification is carried out in accordance with Bordeaux tradition; with a long vatting process and pumping over at the start of fermentation to extract the best of the aromas of the grapes. Winemaking is standard, with a wide variety of vats used: some stainless steel, some concrete, and underground concrete. The aging is done partly in barrels, which are an unusual size of 400 liters.
This property is located in Landerrouat, at the eastern end of the Bordeaux region. It has belonged to the Bessette family since 1971. Jean-Paul and Alice are devoted to their vineyard and their production. Their son Mathieu, holder of a BTS in viti-oenology, joins them to perpetuate the family know-how, to perpetuate the quality of the work and to bring a new impetus. Thanks to the perfect care given to cultivation, harvesting and vinification, the resulting wines have character.
An already charming wine, it will go wonderfully with white meats and of course cheeses.
