Here the Appassimento method is applied to the Negroamaro, Malvasia Nero, Merlot and Cabernet grapes from the Puglia area of South East Italy. Producing a wine that is full bodied, rich and complex. Lots of complex and fruity flavours with notes of ripe dark cherries, fresh herbs and vanilla.
A modern styled red blending a little Primitivo with Negroamaro, giving a sweeter fruit feel. This is a complex, sophisticated red from southern Italy, full-bodied and intense, packed with blackberries, black cherries and plums and softly sweet on the finish.
A fresh, vibrant and juicy red with aromas of sweet ripe plums and cherries. The palate shows the fruit-forward characters of cherry and wild plum and the ripe rounded finish is balanced by fresh bramble acidity.

The Appassimento Rosso Puglia is my go to “sunny day” tipple. Packed full of fruit flavours and slightly sweeter than the other 2.
The Bacca Nera Negroamaro Primitivo, is again another favourite for the summer. I generally like the wines from the Puglia region.
Both are great to drink on their own or as an accompaniment to lighter food offerings and snacks.
I hadn’t tried the Fazzoletto Barbera Passito, Piemonte, before. It was the surprise of the 3 wines, it’s a more complex wine, still full of fruit flavours, but a bit more grown in its style and body. Great to drink on its own, but in my opinion it’s bold enough to drink with hearty winter foods, BBQs and cheese. It’s well worth paying a few pounds more for this if you want a good accompaniment to these foods.
All 3 wines have a similar fruit baseline, but they all have their own unique taste, a very good mix of wines at a great price.

Three real quality wines at very competitive prices. Very easy drinking. Too easy at times. Three of my favourites together. I have previously purchased these and will continue to do so. 😀😀😀.
Enjoyable selection of wines at a very good price. Always well packed, superb delivery and communication. Only niggle was that instead of receiving Appassimento Rosso I received organic Puglia Primitivo which was drinkable and not worth complaining about.
