An intense wine with blackcurrant and raspberry notes complemented by notes of white pepper. The wine is juicy, powerful and fruity on the palate with lovely roasted notes, and silky, delicate tannins.
M. Chapoutier, founded in 1808, cultivates its vines respecting the balance of nature. This gives full expression to the complexity of the soil and to the grape variety. With gastronomy in mind, our aim is to produce wine which will combine perfectly with food.
The vineyards of the red Côtes du Rhône extend over the “communes” of Sablet and Séguret, on a silty and stony subsoil coming from the former bed of the Rhône. The grapes are hand harvested at optimum maturity. Vinification: 100% destemming. Maceration lasts 15 days and procures a good tannic structure which permits the ageing and guarantees the stability of the wine. The wine is aged in vats to develop a good expression of the fruits.
Serve with grilled or roast meats, especially lamb, pizza, pasta and barbecue.
