Fresh and delicate bouquet with aromas of flint and menthol mingled with notes of peach and apricot. In the mouth, its fullness and aromatic complexity are balanced by a beautiful freshness characteristic of this "high-altitude" terroir. Alcoholic fermentation and ageing on fine lees, 80% in stainless steel tanks and 20% in oak barrels for 8 to 9 months.
Located west of the longest limestone ridges stretching from the north of Tournus to Fuissé in the south, the vineyard of Milly-Lamartine occupies the last western slopes of the Mâconnais vineyard. The producer has existed for almost 200 years, purchased by the Bichot family in 1955. It is based in Beaune – the ‘capital’ of Burgundy wines – where it has developed long lasting relationships with its partner growers, with some spanning decades. Jean Bouchard’s wines represent every terroir across Burgundy, from Chablis to Mâconnais, and are vinified in-house by a team of oenologists, who aim to express the character of each grape variety and vintage.
