A powerful, complex Argentine red from Uco Valley, known for its vibrant dark fruit with notes of spice, vanilla, and chocolate, offering great structure and finish.
Intense red with ruby tones. Highlights of black fruit notes such as blackberry and blueberry. Notes of dried figs and spices like black pepper emerge. Smooth as you like with a creamy mid-palate. Black fruit reappear along with caramel notes. Long and persistent finish.
Grapes sourced from plot No. 27 of the Finca Don Antonio vineyard. Medium-depth soil, sandy loam texture with low fertility and presence of pebbles. Irrigation: Drip irrigation. Altitude: 1080 meters above sea level. Year of planting: 2006. Management type: Medium-density canopy aiming to protect the fruit from direct solar radiation, no-till soil preserving native plant cover combined with rye sowing. Pruning system: cordon-trained spur pruning.
Harvest date: March 28, 2018. Harvest carried out in 20 kg boxes. Traditional winemaking: Cold pre-fermentation maceration for 2 days. Fermented in concrete tanks. Cap management through punch-downs, delestage, and pump-overs. Fermentation temperature: 25°C. Aged in French oak barrels and large casks for 15 months, 30% of which were first-use new wood.
A great partner to red meat dishes, particularly when a rich sauce has been used. Try it with a slow braised lamb shank with parsnip puree for example.
