A pleasantly elegant wine that can enhance both an aperitif and a dinner with friends. The base is Chenin Blanc, 75%, with 15% of a special grape variety, called Grolleau, which is often used in the production of rosé wines of the Loire. Then, to complete the cut, a small portion of Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc. M de Montguéret, a Saumur Mousseux Blanc appellation, is the result of a second fermentation in the bottle of about 18 months. A fresh and fragrant wine that in the glass has a beautiful bright straw yellow colour, made even brighter by a fine perlage that rises incessantly from the bottom of the glass to the surface. On the nose features fine aromas, rich of nuances. It ranges from floral to citrusy to dairy and pastries. Finally, on the palate, it is complex and balanced.
Located in the heart of Haut-Layon, the Château de Montguèret is found in the Angèvine region on the border of the municipalities of Nueil-sur-Layon, Passavant-sur-Layon, C'èrè-sur-Layon and Vaudelnay. It is crossed by the river Layon, a tributary of the left bank of the Loire. The castle, an ambassador of regional heritage, elegantly combines Saumur tuff, slate and Sèvrienne brick. The vineyard extends for about 100 hectares and both in the countryside and in the winery rigorous processing techniques are applied to respect the terroir. The range of wines produced is quite wide and embraces different denominations. From Anjou to Saumur Brut, to the elegant C'èmant de Loire and Rosé de Loire.
Perfect for a summer buffet, it is an excellent wine to go with desserts. Try it with foie gras: it will surprise you! As an aperitif or to celebrate big and small moments in life.
