Full of youthful, berry fruits and savoury, minerally flavours from Garnacha and Cariñena are complemented by the smokiness of the Syrah.
Picked around the end of September the wine is then fermented in temperature controlled, stainless steel vats. Principally lime, stone and clay soil mix.
La Bascula is the name given to the Spanish wine range produced by Ed Adams MW and Bruce Jack. The term means weighing scales, and represents the balance between indigenous Spanish varieties and modern winemaking. The philosophy is small volumes and really high quality. The wines are made to truly represent excellent value for money and really show off the areas they come from. The result is fine, ripe, concentrated wines.
Catalan Eagle takes its name from the bird that soars above the nature reserve close to the winery.
Pepe Fuster makes wine from his 26 hectare vineyard in Terra Alta which is near Tarragona in southern Catalonia. Pepe's vineyard is officially certified organic.
Its fine, ripe tannins mean the wine can be drunk on its own but also particularly good with barbecued meats and chorizo sausage, as learnt from repeated experience!
