'Les Meysonniers' is a wine with fleshy tannins and loads of floral and black fruit notes, as well as elegance.

With roots dating back to 1808, M. CHAPOUTIER is one of the oldest companies in the Rhône Valley. Yet, its world renown and the quality of wine can truly be accredited to the arrival of Michel Chapoutier in 1990. His willingness to change the set way, thirst for knowledge and open-mindedness, together with his drive to seek, discover and reflect the full potential of our terroirs, letting the soils express their true character, has put our wines firmly on the wine world map.

From gently sloping, south-facing hillsides, composed of Isère river sedimentary soils and large, round pebbles.

The 2021 in the Rhône Valley was a year that the winegrowers are unlikely to forget in a hurry. Despite a growing season that never let up for an instant, the work of 'man' will have revealed a vintage that has brought us wine profiles that we had almost forgotten existed. The balance found in the white Hermitage already lends them great minerality and wonderful tension. The profile of the reds is more ethereal than in recent years, showing remarkable aromatic complexity and a tannic structure characteristics of a true Syrah from the Northern Rhône Valley. Brightness, finesse and aromatic elegance are the hallmarks of this 2021 vintage. It follows in the footsteps of some of its glorious predecessors that possessed perfect maturity, great complexity and elegance.

Our Crozes-Hermitage is vinified traditionally with punching down and pumping over taking place in concrete tanks. This wine is made from organically grown grapes. The exclusion of all chemical products (in particular herbicides), and the ploughing of the vineyards, enables the vine to plunge its root system deep down into the heart of the soil. Deeper root systems make the vine’s physiological behaviour more even, and provide better resistance to sudden changes in temperature.

A great accompaniment to a hearty casserole, cote de boeuf or mature cheeses.
