Stylish, modern Margaux. This blend leans towards Cabernet Sauvignon, as you’d expect, fleshed out with Merlot, and with a splash of Petit Verdot to add grippy tannins and a deeper colour.
Bright and attractive, redolent of blackberries, cassis, and blackcurrant leaves, with well-integrated oak adding a mocha note to the finish.
Château Tayac's vineyards cover an area of 37 hectares, on the gravelly soils around Soussans. In the Portet family for 4 generations, this is very much a family affair. Guy Portet uses the Méthode Cousinié; a system of observation and analysis to maintain optimum vineyard health with minimal treatments. Nicolas Portet is the winemaker; the wine style is harmonious and well-balanced allowing the excellent quality of the fruit to shine through.
Fermented in a mix of cement and stainless steel tanks and aged for 10-12 months in French oak barrels, of which 35% are new.
Perfect with roast lamb served pink with herbs, or a rare sirloin steak.
