Antinori Tignanello is a concentrated red wine with delicious aromas of ripe red and black fruit, accompanied by sweet spices, hints of leather and nuances of tobacco over a balsamic background. The palate is enveloping, clean and smooth. A medium-bodied wine with refreshing acidity, soft tannins and a long, smooth and refined finish.

“Super Tuscan” wines, the main protagonists of the first Italian wine revolution in the 1960s, were defiant wines that set themselves apart from what everyone had been doing before. Wines that prioritised the search for the original Tuscan terroir and quickly found success. The two pioneering wineries in this revolutionary movement were Tenuta San Guido, which launched Sassicaia, a Bordeaux-style wine made with foreign varieties (Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc), and, three years later, Marchesi Antinori's Tignanello, which, in addition to including non-traditional varieties, was the first barrel-aged Sangiovese.

The flagship wine of one of Italy’s most historic winemaking families (producing wine for over 600 years), Antinori Tignanello Toscana is one of the country’s most famous wines. The result of respect for tradition and for the territory and its continuity, it represents the past, the present and the future of the Tuscan quality movement. In production since 1971 but only in the best vintages, this is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from the vineyards of Tenuta Tignanello, the historic property belonging to the Antinori family located in the heart of the Chianti Classico area. This is an area of 57 hectares whose vines are planted in limestone soils, at an altitude of 350-400 metres above sea level. In the winery, fermentation is carried out in conical vats with careful maceration and malolactic fermentation, and aging takes place in French and Hungarian oak barrels for 15 months. Finally it is bottled and stays in the winery for 12 months before being released for sale.

A world-renowned wine and one of the most internationally recognised “Super Tuscans”, Antinori Tignanello Toscana represents an exceptional expression of the Tuscan winemaking tradition and the Antinori family’s passion for quality and innovation in winemaking. A blend that is highly appreciated and sought after by connoisseurs and wine lovers from all over the world.
