Packed with UV induced colour, this is dark, sensual Cabernet from some of the highest vineyards in the Uco Valley. The nose carries notes of cedar, pencil and ripe damson, The palate is super textural with sweet fine grain tannins that carry summer pudding, bitter chocolate and a touch of leather, all of which marries to create a fabulous mountain cab.

Cadus Wines focus mainly on vineyards within the Uco Valley region. The grapes for this wine are sourced from Gualtallary in Tupungato, a micro-region within the high altitude Valle de Uco. Tupungato sits between 1300 - 1400masl and is known for its alluvial soils thanks to water erosion of the Andes Mountains overs thousands of years. It's an extremely dry place with wide thermal amplitude during the day, creating a very distinctive and character rich microclimate. The sandy textured soils run quite deep and limestone and minerals which provide good drainage and encourage richly coloured and highly structured wines. 80% of the wine has been aged in French oak for 12 months (10% new, the rest in 2nd & 3rd use). The yield is 6,000 kg/Ha limiting production been to just 13,000 bottles.

Cadus is a perfectly formed winery near Tupungato, in the shadow of the Andes Mountains, within the Uco Valley. This high altitude region has quickly built a reputation as the home of premium Mendozan wines and the Cadus range is no exception. The soil profiles and compositions within the Uco Valley vary within short distances, allowing for different grape varieties and resulting in wines styles with unique characteristics. With vineyards in the best sites in the Valley (namely Gualtallary, Vista Flores and Agrelo in Lujan de Cuyo), Cadus wines are classic in style but with a very modern twist thanks to the vision of winemaker Santiago Mayorga (Young Winemaker of the Year 2017) who has forged a reputation for bright, lifted expressions of wine from the region.
