A traditional off-dry style produced from the Grasparossa grape - widely considered to be the highest quality of the Lambrusco varieties, with thicker skin and ripe tannins. It has lashings of vibrant cherry and berry fruit.
Dark ruby red in colour with intense aromas of plum and ripe black cherry. The palate is fresh and vibrant with pure crushed black fruits balanced by fresh acidity and a touch of sweetness. The finish is clean and dry with a nip of tannin.
The Lambrusco Grasparossa grapes are sourced from sandy-clay vineyards in the Castelvetro region south of Modena. Made using the Charmat method, with its second fermentation in tank.
A good match for spicy Asian foods or charcuterie. Could be an interesting (and lighter) alternative to Port with blue cheese.

I've reordered this delightful little number at least five times and shall inevitably do so again! Unlike those pompous reds that demand your complete attention (and a second mortgage for a decent vintage), this Lambrusco is refreshingly unpretentious.
Wonderfully light and fruity, with that cheeky effervescence that makes you wonder why more reds don't bubblify themselves. It's like the red wine that decided to have a bit more fun at the party!
I've debated keeping this gem to myself (one does worry about supply chains these days), but withholding such information would surely violate the sacred Wine Lovers' Code. I'd be hauled before the Oenological Ethics Committee and stripped of my tasting privileges!
Everyone I've shared a bottle with has fallen hopelessly in love with it. Even my friend who claims to only drink "serious wines" was caught licking the empty bottle when they thought no one was looking.
Don't waste precious time contemplating, whilst you're hesitating, I'm already restocking my secret Lambrusco bunker. Cheerio to the last of my willpower! >.<
