Montagne Saint-Émilion is the most prestigious satellite of Saint-Émilion.
Within the prestigious satellite appellation Montagne St Emilion, Château Cardinal’s 10ha of vines average 30 years of age. Here Merlot, with some Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon, grows on argilo-calcaire. Grapes are harvested at full maturity and sorted and pressed at the winery. During vinification the temperature is carefully monitored to achieve the desired aromas and structure in the wines, before maturation in vats or casks for over a year. The wine is then allowed further maturation in bottle before release.
Deep ruby colour, with ripe fruit on the nose and a mellow, lightly tannic structure with spicy notes. A full-bodied, well-balanced wine with a seductive finish.
Grilled beef steak or hard cheeses.
