The flagship wine for Carelli, this Malbec does not disappoint. Great plum and cranberry perfume with some good spice and leafy secondary characters. Soft but plentiful tannins work well with the acidity and depth of fruit flavour on the palate, making the wine very drinkable, with or without food!
Latitud 34° is a family produced easy drinking wine range from Mendoza. The family have been making wines for 3 generations in Mendoza.
The grapes are hand harvested from their vineyards on the 34th latitude, at altitude in the mountain vineyards of Mendoza. They are then sorted by hand again to ensure only the fully ripe, clean grapes go into the wines. They are then fermented in a state-of-the-art winery, also in Mendoza, allowing the wine maker to control the temperatures and keep the freshness of the wines.
The winery is placed in the province of Mendoza, within the wine Argentina zone called Cuyo, at 34 degrees South Latitude, where the best grapes are grown and harvested. Bodegas y Viñedos Santos J. Carelli was born in 1943, when Santos J. Carelli bought the winery, which was built in 1895. Bodega Carelli has been owned by the Carelli Family since 1943, when Santos Carelli Planted the first vineyards with high quality grapes for winemaking. The third generation is currently participating in the project, under the direction of Santo’s son, Enrique J. Carelli, who continues incorporating new technology with the same entrepreneurial spirit of the founder, leading Carelli wines to achieve several international awards.
