Mythos is only produced in exceptional vintages, using less then 2% of the available top quality grapes from Casal da Coelheira Estate vineyards. After all varieties are fermented separately, maturation occurs, up to 14 months, in French (80%) and American (20%) oak barrels.
Earning a reputation as a benchmark in Tagus’s region, Mythos is a full-bodied red wine, with superb ripe fruit within a rich tannin structure. A powerfully modern red wine from a classic 35 years old Portuguese vineyard. Recently named as one of the top 20 wines from Portugal (including Ports!).
Rich and concentrated, this top quality red has notes of dark fruit, chocolate, baking spices and leather. The palate is complex and textured with firm tannins, balancing acidity and a long, elegant finish.
Tejo stands out from the warmer regions of the country for producing wines with concentrated fruit and outstanding natural acidity, one of the most balanced of Portugal.
For over three generations, Casal da Coelheira has been committed to producing the best and most distinctive wines possible from their 64 hectares of vineyards. Located in the Charneca area of Tejo, the wines are produced exclusively from the winery’s estate vineyards with a focus on balancing tradition and modernity. The passion for Portuguese viticulture and winemaking traditions has garnered Casal da Coelheira international recognition and acclaim for quality-driven wine with exceptional character and value.
