Its dress has a beautiful deep ruby red color, where some purple reflections twirl. The nose, particularly pleasant, expresses itself with intensity. There is a very nice complexity, with notes of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant) and slightly more woody aromas. We have a nice attack on the palate, with a lot of roundness and sweetness. We perceive a woody note, present but well balanced. The notes of black fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant) already perceived on the nose, are found here for our greatest pleasure. We have a nice structure, with firm and elegant tannins. The palate is particularly harmonious and balanced.
Château Bonnet is still one of the trusted Bordeaux wines. The Vignobles André Lurton defend the idea of wines that are both fleshy and harmonious like this Reserve cuvée, which could figure in the archetypes of Bordeaux. With an irreproachable personality, she plays the balance with grace and discovers herself in depth and charm.
2018 was one of the hottest years since 1900: higher than normal temperatures, a summer of 2018 ranked 2nd among the hottest summers, strong sunshine... Abundant rainfall was followed, from June, by a persistent drought, bordering on records in September.
It is a wine that can be enjoyed with roast poultry, grilled red meats or even a buffet of charcuterie. It is a wine with remarkable aging potential that can be left to age for a few more years.
