Rich Morello cherry and red fruit flavours, balanced with sumptuous dark fruit, spice, leather and vanilla gives this wine the real wow factor.
The notes of red fruits are very concentrated. Behind them develop a wide range of aromas including blackberry, vanilla, dried herbs and leather due to the ageing in barrels. The main varieties of the appellation come together and complement each other to magnify the whole wine. Merlot brings the fruit and the Cabernet Franc gives the wine the spicy notes. A great fruit driven Grand Cru with fantastic complexity and length.
The grapes are destemmed and fermented on skins with pumping over, to aid extraction of colour and tannin. The wine is aged in oak barriques for around a year before final blending. A further 6 months ageing happens with the wine in the bottle, before release.
Château La Croix Meunier belongs to the 5th generation of the Meulier family (going back to 1840). This rich soft supple St-Émilion is ripe and fruity with new oak. Deep & full-bodied on the palate this wine offers incredible value for a wine of this rank.
