Pale with light gold-green reflections. Aromas of lemons, herbs and white flowers finishing with a slight spice. A dry palate with hints of ripe golden fruit and a lemon finish.
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winemaking centre in small boxes, separated by variety and vineyard; the must is obtained by direct pressing after cold maceration. The clean must was fermented in stainless steel vats at low temperature (90%) and the rest in French and Austrian oak casks of varying capacities (10%). This wine was bottled between March and April 2020.
Temperatures in the early part of 2019 were high and led to an earlier start than usual for the vegetative cycle. Everything pointed to an early harvest, but the mild temperatures in August and September extended the cycle, allowing the slower development of complex aromas and flavours. Harvest began on the 22nd August at Quinta de Ervamoira, slightly later than the last few vintages and in early September at Quinta dos Bons Ares, where the summer rain arrived just in time for the latter stages of maturation. The profile of the Duas Quintas White 2019 is ripe, yet fresh with good acidity.
Excellent when served as an aperitif or an accompaniment with smoked fish, dry-cured ham, mushroom risottos or roast chicken.
Serve between 12º and 14º C. Store the bottle on its side in a cool, dry and dark place.
