A truly elegant and classy wine with fresh red berry and black cherry fruits, a touch of spice, supple tannins and refreshing acidity.

This is textbook Fleurie - elegant, soft and silky with aromas of wild flowers, cherries and bramble spice. A bright and expressive palate with flavours of juicy ripe red fruit and hints of spice and vanilla. Gentle tannins, with a well balanced acidity.

Fermentation occurs on skins in large oak vats, with pumping over to aid extraction colour and flavour. The final wine is aged for 9 months in large oak casks and a small proportion in smaller oak barrels for added flavour. After a light filtration the wine is bottled.

The estate of Grand Garant is situated on the eastern side of the Fleurie Appellation in the hamlet of Le Vivier and is owned by Mme Claude Grosjean, who took over the winery from her father. Many of the vines are over 50 years old and grow in soil composed of pink sand and granite rocks. The vineyards are managed in a sustainable way without use of artificial herbicides or chemical fertilizers. Their Fleurie is simply delicious.
