Fruit driven, with lots of strawberry and black cherry fruit aromas on the nose with hints of biscuit. On the palette there is creaminess, fleshy juiciness with aromas of peach, blood orange and ripe citrus. There is good structure and length and gentle mousse.

Made from our home-grown grapes, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, Native Grace is inspired by the intricate woodcuts of English engraver and naturalist Thomas Bewick.

When it comes to English wine there’s a lot to shout about, not least the stunning sparkling wines from Henners. Based just 4 miles from the sea in Herstmonceux, East Sussex, the 7 acre vineyard was created in 2007 by ex-Formula One engineer, Lawrence Warr. The winery was named in honour of Larry's French ancestor, Henners Dubois, who was forced to flee Paris for England during the French Revolution in the in the late 18th Century.

All Henners wines are hand-crafted from start to finish; with separate fermenting of varietals and their vine clones to allow a broader range of wines for final blending; extended lees ageing for added complexity; and holding back of all bottles for at least 3 years prior to release to add depth and richness to every wine. Hand-crafted with every attention to detail, our winemakers create award winning wines of depth, complexity and elegance that are perfect for any occasion.

The wine is 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Meunier based on the 2019 vintage. 2019 was a rather typical vintage in England with alternating good, poor and average weather throughout the season. The summer rains helped swell the berries and increase overall yields and a late summer heat wave set the vines up well for ripening, however autumn was wet and this meant attention to detail in the vineyard was essential with only clean and ripe fruit harvested. Fruit sourced from Henners and partner growers in Kent. This is a pinot-led blend from more fruit forward tanks to create a wine that is approachable while young. Full malolactic fermentation, stainless steel fermentation using champagne yeasts.

Great with fish & chips, native oysters or brown spider crab sandwiches.
