Meaty and savoury, this wine from Palacio Quemado suggests some earthy notions, a touch of red berries and some toasted remembrances. Well-balanced acidity and lively tannins. Long finish with some remembrances of red and black fruit. This blend of Garnacha Tintorera and Syrah has a medium intensity and an excellent balance. Fresh aromas of mulberries and strawberries, with some lactic nuances and hints of spices, violets and wild herbs.
La Zarcita is a red wine from the appellation of origin (D.O) Ribera del Guadiana produced by the winery Palacio Quemado. This was a project set up in 1999 by the winery Bodegas Alvear in the town of Alange (Badajoz).
La Zarcita is producted from a blend of syrah, touriga nacional, trincadeira and garnacha tintorera. The vines are planted at an altitude of 520 meters above sea level and the soils are mainly calcareous. For production, the grapes are harvested and fermented separately, this respects the optimum period for ripening and to preserve the grape's character.
