Pinot Blanc is the friendly face of Alsace wines; neither divisive (Gewurztraminer) or likely to be too sweet (Pinot Gris) its character lies in its ability to fit into any occasion, being both easy going and complex at the same time. With access to the varied terroir of Alsace AOP. Cave de Turckheim excel at Pinot Blanc. For their Reserve wine they select the best cuve to blend a classic Pinot Blanc which is elegant and textured.

This 100% Pinot Blanc is blended from 80% Pinot Blanc and 20% Pinot Blanc Auxerrois and vinified traditionally (pneumatic pressing and temperature controlled fermentation) by winemaker Jean Michel Lihrmann. Grapes from 25 year old vines growing on granite or gravel are harvested by hand or machine (depending on site) then vinified separately, as the various soils impart different characters and styles to the overall blend. Michel then selects particular tanks to achieve good depth of flavour and complexity in the wine, bottling without fining and only a light filtration to preserve fruit and aromatic qualities.

With light aromas of peaches and citrus, this is an elegant wine with character, good weight and texture.
