Ridge’s Geyserville is one of California’s most famous wines. Made with grapes from vines up to 130 years old, this iconic red offers a mesmerising balance of restraint and elegance, with deep black fruit and layers of complex flavour. Elegant and restrained, with underlying power – layered black fruit and warming spice.
Although the original Ridge estate dates back to 1885, the first Geyserville Zinfandel wasn’t made until 1966. Renowned winemaker Paul Draper joined the cellar in 1969 and, over the decades, helped shape this red into one of California’s most iconic wines. Geyserville is home to some of Ridge’s oldest vines – the ‘Old Patch’ vineyard includes plantings over 130 years old. Like many historic sites, it’s planted as a traditional field blend, with all the grapes harvested and fermented together – mostly Zinfandel, with Carignan, Petite Sirah and Mourvèdre lending support. A Californian classic.
