Clear pale gold color. Concentrated nose with notes of citrus and exotic fruits. Aromas full of finesse in the mouth. Fresh and well-balanced final.
Located in Bué, in the heart of Sancerre, our estate is the continuation of a family business, coming from a long line of winegrowers. Located in the communes of BUE, SANCERRE, THAUVENAY and VINON, on hillsides facing south, south/west, west and south/east, our soils are clay-limestone, limestone and flint. Patrick and Adrien Girault exploit the vines there, make wine and keep tradition alive, while using modern techniques. For around ten years, our Domaine has been involved in reasoned struggle to act for biodiversity and the ecosystem. The aim is to limit treatments and preserve auxiliary fauna (reestablishment of hedges), in order to protect the environment as much as possible and to promote biodiversity in the vineyard. This is how tradition embraces modernity, while continuing to satisfy lovers of great Sancerre wines. The planted area of Domaine Girault is currently 12 ha, it extends over the renowned hillsides of “Grand Chemarin”, “Petit Chemarin” and “Chêne Marchand”. The farm is divided into 38 plots of the Sancerre Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC): 31 plots are planted with Sauvignon and 7 plots are planted with Pinot Noir.
It goes perfectly with white meats, poultry, game and cheeses.
