An amazing wine with good minerality, intensity and complexity. Wonderful aromas of wild flowers and hints of almond.

Canoso has been making wine for three generations. Their style is pure and authentic and utterly delicious. Fonte translates roughly as "source" and the name reflects the estates vison of using original ancient wine making techniques for their wines. This Soave Classico is made from 100% Garganega grapes and has a delicate bouquet of white flowers and almonds. The palate is complex and aromatic with a mineral finish.

Made solely from Garganega grapes from the Classico area, the original heartland of Soave. Once harvested and gently crushed, the grapes are macerated on their skins for several hours to extract additional aromas. The grapes are cool fermented using native yeast in stainless steel and kept on fine lees for around 6 months to increase richness in the final wine. The wine is bottled in the spring and aged for 4 months in bottle prior to release.

Canoso have been making Soave for 3 generations and selling their wines in bulk to many respected names in the area. However it is only fairly recently that Canoso have decided to bottle and market their own wine, and we are very pleased they have! The winery is based in the traditional heartland of Soave known as the Classico area. In this area vines grow on slopes and ancient soils and yields are lower than for straight Soave. Canoso have eschewed the option of adding other permitted grape varieties to the Garganega grape which forms the backbone of Soave, and only use natural yeast for fermentation. The resulting wines are authentic and reflect the characteristics of their Terroir. With just 10 hectares of vineyards planted on ancient volcanic soils in the Classico area, Canoso want to make top quality wine that reflects the very essence of Soave. Brothers Massimo and Primo run the winery and vineyards respectively.
