A lavishly rich and creamy old vine Chenin Blanc from the Stellenbosch region of South Africa. The vines are 55 years old and hence the name “Chenin 55” – This wine has a generous buttery and honeyed fruit flavours. The finish is bright, crisp and long.

A wine definitely made to be one in its class. A very rich tropical wine, intense flavours of pear-drop on the bouquet carried forward onto a caramel creamy palate of well judged oak. With the use of a section of botrytised Chenin in this wine giving it a subtle honeycomb flavour on the finish.

Stellenrust was established in 1928 and has ever since produced some of the most superb quality wines that the Stellenbosch region from South Africa can offer. It consists of about 400ha (200ha planted) of which half is stretched over the Golden Triangle area of Stellenbosch, internationally recognised for some of the best red wine soil in South Africa. The other half is situated high up in the Bottelary Hills, renowned for its cool climate and late afternoon sea breezes swooping in from Cape Town to nurture both excellent white and red wines. This Chenin will compliment an array of dishes: from orange-infused duck confit to lemon-infused Norwegian salmon on a bed of creamed spinach and potato puree.
