An aromatic personality with wonderful sweetness and length. A smoky, perfumed and woody nose. Intense flavours of toffee pudding and green walnuts make up the palate. A well made wine with great poise, length and balance.
The port is made from a blend of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Cao & Tinta Amarela.
Like the 10 Year Old, the 20 Year Old is bottled when ready to drink and will not improve if laid down in bottle.
It is an excellent accompaniment to many desserts and can also be enjoyed with some fruit dishes, especially strawberries. It may also be appreciated on its own, at the end of the meal, and can be served cool in summer.
Taylor's 20 Year Old Tawny is another magnificent, finely-balanced old tawny blend. Here again, the wines are selected from among the best red ports produced in the eastern areas of the Douro Valley, including Taylor's own properties, and aged in oak casks. In the 20 Year Old, the fruit has mellowed still further than in the 10 Year Old, and the spicy, nutty aromas of ageing are more powerful and intense.
