Rich black fruits and a hint of herbal mintiness on the nose. More dark fruit and herbs on the ripe, full-bodied palate with grippy yet well-integrated tannins on the finish.
Château La Gramondie is a part of the Maison Ginestet stable of wines. As both a négociant and a producer of its own wines, Maison Ginestet has long been convinced of the need to work the land in a viable manner and it places substantial emphasis on partnerships with sustainable agriculture-accredited winegrowing estates. Some growers are fully organic, and Ginestet is certified to bottle wines made from organically grown grapes.
Grown on 30 hectares of vineyards, planted on chalky/clay soils. The average age of the vines is approximately 30 years, adding to the wine's complexity. In case you are wondering, Cuvée Eva is named in honour of Jean Galineau's daughter.
Served well with Lancashire hot-pot, beef daube, roast lamb.
