Tannins are massy and chewy though also have a slightly chalky edge giving more texture and flavour detail. This 100% Merlot, made by the same team as Château Clinet in Pomerol with a collection of growers across Bordeaux, is incredibly delicious and joyful, a perfect time to drink yet feels as if it has more life left in it yet. Ronan by Clinet Bordeaux Rouge is a charming, delicately spiced and fruit forward 100% Merlot red wine that perfectly reflects the style and know how of the prestigious Château Clinet, whilst at the same time offering exceptional value for money.

This is 100% Merlot from a variety of appellations on the north bank of the estuary are handled with extreme care and attention. Oak aged to soften the tannins, the nose is expressive with plenty of raspberry, blackberry and cherry fruit with hints of flowers such as violets. On the palate it is deliciously fruity with good structure and excellent acid balance with some fine notes of spices in the finish. Persistent and toothsome. An excellent job from this top producer who built a winery in Pomerol specifically for the production of this little gem.

Named after Château Clinet's CEO, Ronan Laborde, the wine originates from the terroirs of Côtes de Castillon, Bourg, Lussac Saint Emilion and Bordeaux. Deep ruby red in colour the wine displays aromatic notes of cherry, raspberry and blackcurrant, enlivened with sweet pepper. The palate is beautifully concentrated with ripe flavours of raspberry, fresh cherry and redcurrant complemented with fine spices. It finishes long and flavoursome.
