Fresita was first launched in 1992. It is produced by Viña Casal de Gorchs, a family owned and run company, which started out in 1927 after the Rabat Family emigrated to Santiago from Cataluña in Spain and bought their first vineyards. The base wine is sourced from family owned Vineyards located in the fertile lands of Colchagua and Maipo Valleys. The strawberries that are blended with the base wine are sourced from Patagonia in Chile. 

A deep and rich crimson colour, with fine, persistent bubbles. Delicious strawberry aromas combined with honeydew melon and a light herbaceous character. An explosion of luscious strawberries, blended perfectly with green fruit flavours, delivering a crisp and fresh finish. 

The base wines are separately fermented, and then blended in tank. The second fermentation takes place in tank and lasts from 3-4 weeks, when the yeast is filtered away. Dosage is added, consisting of sugar and alcohol to obtain the correct style, which is fruity and fresh. 

Fresh, hand picked strawberries from Patagonia are blended to form a puree, and are added to the bottle with the sparkling wine. The strawberries make up 3% of Fresita.
