On the nose there are hints of honeysuckle, beeswax, hints of fruity smoke, pineapple, lychee juice, carbolic soap and baked beans hiding behind. Flavours of f
reshly cut boards, tropical fruit syrup, muddy peat, hint of violet, juicy orange, light smoke. On the finish there is anis, light wood and sawdust, floral notes linger.
 
Where previous version of Tally 25yo have been released at fullstrength, 2011's edition is the first to be bottled from refill casks at Talisker's traditional strength of 45.8% (80 proof).

Talisker is the malt whisky distillery made by the sea on the shores of the Isle of Skye, one of the most remote, windswept, yet beautiful landscapes in Scotland. It is a powerful, challenging single malt, with a sea-salty nose, peaty, smoky character and peppery finish remarkably evocative of the rugged, windblown beauty of its island home. The spirit will always be double distilled to create a rich, deep character embodying maritime characteristics of a coastal whisky.
