A delicate floral nose with white stone fruit and grapefruit. The palate has more stonefruit and citrus, with more precise flavours of pear and melon and minerality, with warm spice and savoury notes. The wine has a rich texture and is wonderfully integrated.
La Bascula is the name given to the Spanish wine range produced by Ed Adams MW and Bruce Jack. The term means weighing scales, and represents the balance between indigenous Spanish varieties and modern winemaking. The philosophy is small volumes and really high quality. The wines are made to truly represent excellent value for money and really show off the areas they come from. The result is fine, ripe, concentrated wines.
Catalan Eagle takes its name from the bird that soars above the nature reserve close to the winery.
Pepe Fuster makes wine from his 26 hectare vineyard in Terra Alta which is near Tarragona in southern Catalonia. Pepe's vineyard is officially certified organic.
Catalan Eagle white is 70% Garnacha Blanca, 20% Viognier and 10% Roussanne, the two latter grape varieties originally coming from the Rhone. Cool fermented in stainless steel, the result is an aromatic, peachy white wine with refreshing acidity and a rich texture. The wine is perfect now and will also age well for 2 years.
Perfect with seafood paella.
